Flock of Five Ring Ouzels at Carmel Head
As Tony White has had Ring Ouzels around Ynys y Fidlyn by Carmel Head in the past, and there was a movement of them in the North West region yesterday I thought it was worth a visit.Richard Birch joined me and on the Ring Ouzel front we weren't disappointed. After we had walked down to the beach and up around the coastal path over the Fulmar Cliffs I heard a funny call. I looked up and there overhead was a flock of five Ring Ouzels and they started to give their more familiar chacking call. They were flying from "The Head" south, they landed on a nearby crag briefly before flying over the Large Plantation and then headed on south towards Church Bay. What a treat!
