Conwy RSPB Sat 04

A great stroll along the estuary track produced a Green Sandpiper calling often and feeding on the estuary and in front of Benarth Hide.  Checking through the Curlew on the estuary a Hobby hunting low caused some disruption among a small flock of House Martin then a juv Yellow Wagtail landed on the estuary having come from the islands on deep lagoon and commuted back and forth but i couldn't nail a pic.  It was definitely not a Cit with green tones but looked more like a juv flava with strong super and bib.  Hopefully someone will be able to photograph it.

Juv Ring Plover on est and juv LRP reported this afternoon.

  1. Interesting debate about the 2 juv plovers seen on the reserve this morning. They both had sandy coloured eyestripes (not white). Does this clinch lrp?
