Tuesday saw the BBFO staff return, Steve for his 16th year as Warden (along with wife Emma and ten year old son Connor). Also Mark Carter a volunteer from last season who was appointed as one of our full time Assistants for 2013.
The year began with a couple of Chiffchaffs on Wednesday, a stunning Black Redstart on Thursday and we trapped a Jack Snipe on Friday. The first Wheatear was on the Narrows today with a Scandinavian Rock Pipit. A Short Eared Owl was above the obs this lunchtime. The overwintering Firecrest has been present throughout.
