Glossy Ibis, 1st County

I gather that this is a 1st for Denbighshire and/or Conwy.  Any ideas who found it yesterday? It was still present this afternoon on the western side of River Clwyd.  Access along Marsh Road from Rhuddlan (road next to Premier Inn) and take footpath north to view around where the pylons cross the river.  Hope it stays a while!  Green Sand also reported there this morning.

  1. There was one over the A55 near ST Asaph a few years ago seen by Alan.
There was one in Flints 2 years back. The BMW/IMF bird fed nicely on our side of the fence.
Had to divert from Manchester via Rhyl this morning. Cracking bird to see locally.

  2. Hi Kev, yeah I should have said if accepted. I don't think Alan submitted so unfortunately some records slip by. So if this gets submitted it would be the first county rec.

  4. A guy from the caravan site found it and looked in his bird book to ID it and got the news out - top bloke! Still present this evening, can hide in creeks very well.

  5. Fair play to him! Great find, can be very elusive though, spent a lot of its time tonight hunkered down feeding. Great to see though!
