Glaucous Gull at Menai Bridge

Following on from Alan's post, the Glaucous Gull was showing well from the small minor road along side the fields it was in. Never actually realised how big the birds were in size to the Herring Gull for example.

Managed to get a quick record shot whilst dodging the showers!

  3. I went for it this morning firstly and it wasn't there, got it on the second attempt after lunch. May have spent its time somewhere else until high tide maybe? I don't know if if thats been a similar trend this week?

  4. When Sally and I saw our first Glauc (on Enlli) about 1980 it flew towards us with two BH Gulls either side and looked the size of a mute swan! A week later we heard of a GBBG flying towards Cley beach with two tiny black backed gulls either side? That turned out to be a Black-browed Albatross!

  5. It showed well again at Lunch time today. It still hung around even when everything else left the field. Unfortunately Eddie there was no sign of any Alberts ;-)
