As this bird is unringed i'm guessing it's not from a UK or Ireland breeding colony. Birds from Coquet are ringed on both legs and I believe the same happens at Rockabill. Wonder what it's origins are?!
We were saying the same thing Henerz. Apparently the Cemlyn bird is unringed too. The last three I've seen in Conwy- two on Llanfairfechan salt marsh and the other in exactly the same place as this one some five years ago, all had a silver ring in both legs. In fact, I always thought it was a good way of identifying Roseate until this bird!
Great Pete- lovely colours. Still present 3pm.
ReplyDeleteCracking find Marc! Was amazing how it just jumped out at you

ReplyDeleteA couple of common terns joined it later on which were nice. Brilliant find though Marc
ReplyDeletePity the bird has not returned today. Could not get there yesterday sadly. Hopefully it might come back. Cracking shots Pete.
