Anglesey before the rain

Headed over to Anglesey this morning hoping for a few hours birding before the forecast rain.

At Malltreath lovely flock of Pintail on Cob Pool and a Spotted Redshank on the Cefni River also Black tailed Godwit and Knot were year ticks.

Over 1,000 Golden Plover on fields adjacent to Aberffraw dunes - spectacular sight! Two Goosander Aberffraw river.

Llyn Coron had few birds but a Pink footed Goose in field on far side.

Beddmanarch Bay and we year ticked Ken! GN Diver and Slavonian Grebe out in the choppy bay, cracking adult Med Gull on beach and some 200 Pale bellied Brents on mud along with Grey Plover, Bar tailed Godwit, Knot.

Holyhead Harbour and great views of Black throated Diver and 2 Great northern Diver close to south side. Nine Black Guillemots and 3 Kittiwakes here.

At South Stack the rain arrived with a vengeance and we ticked off two Chough and then legged it!
