Rhos Point

Had my first sighting of a sanderling at Rhos Point in the high tide roost today. A purple sandpiper, knot, 52 dunlin, 18 ringed plover and 22 redshanks also in the roost. A bit further along at Old Colwyn by the watersports centre many thousands of common scoter offshore and a steady passage of red-throated divers flying west with at least 28 involved. Also noticeable were bigger numbers of common gulls.
