The yellowthroat teased us a little today. I along with three other north Wales birders headed south. We were there just after first light. In the 4 hours we spent there, the little sod stayed hidden. As we were soaked and cold we decided to head over the Cosmeston to see the drake lesser scaup. This showed very well indeed and was a very smart duck. On our way back to retry for the yellowthroat we got news that it was showing. Problems parking and a mad dash ensued and we got onto the bird feeding low in the ditch. It's an absolute cracker and worth the long drive.
