Cemlyn Update : Sat 9th March

Quite quiet and cold this morning. A Wheatear was at Carmel Head on the 7th (Birdguides)but no sign of any at Cemlyn today. There was still a nice Greenshank showing well on the lagoon.A few Black-heads were back on the Islands in preparation for the breeding season. There were 14 Grey Plover and 2 Purple Sands on the Trwyn (Tony had 6 in the week). There have been 60+ Golden Plover showing well on the surrounding fields and the Hoodie was still here today, with crows in the fields towards HenBorth. Last Sunday Tony had a singing male Snow Bunting in the east car-park.He also had 15 Red throated Divers fly west together with another 3 in the Bay.There were only 5 Mippets on the Trwyn so no obvious sign of movement at present.
