Patching from the front door.
A walk from the front door this morning produced a couple of good Penrhyn Bay birds. The flooded fields produced a smart Golden Plover, 40+ Lapwing, 25 Wigeon, 13 Teal, 78 Curlew, 22 Redshank, 4 Snipe and a fieldfare. Continuing in to Rhos Point a nice winter plumaged Black Guillemot was offshore along with 12 G C Grebe and 4 Ref breasted Mergs. Four Purple Sandpipers were in the rocks below no. 75, The Promenade. Just as I was returning home a cracking female peregrine appeared at Rhos Golf course and caught a poor Black headed Gull. An enjoyable and environmentally friendly morning.

ReplyDeleteThe idea is that you record as many bird species as possible by walking from your door in January. A number of birders are having ago across the UK. Be interesting to see what we can find.

Sounds great fun. That's what inspired me to get out on foot today. Female Blacl Redstart above Angel Bay , while Chough and several Red throated Diver here too.
