Holyhead Rose coloured Starling

Mark Payne and Dr Paul Brewster had a good day on Anglesey today. Mark took the pictures above of the juv. Rose coloured Starling in Holyhead. They also got 3 Slav Grebes, Med Gull, Purple Sand, Jack Snipe, 8 White fronted Geese, 5 Greenshank and Black Guillemots. Mark reports - 'for anyone going to see this bird at weekend, better directions are Nimrod walk and Ffordd Beibio (footie pitch). we tried the Bryn Glas Road site and failed, it spends most of its time on these two streets according to locals.'

  1. This bird can often be seen around where i live, ffordd beibio, i have hanging basket which is now a bird feeder, we get all types of birds coming for food inc, sparrows, robins, blackbirds, the odd thrush, starlings, magpie, and a basket full of collared doves, who sometimes sit in the basket and have a rest! the most ive had in the basket is five at one time, its gives me so much pleasure to watch these coming for food all from living room window.
