Red rumped Swallow

Another good day on the island, lots of passage, with blackcaps, willow warblers and swallows most numerous migrants. Best bird was a Red rumped Swallow that shot through the island at bullet like speed at noon. Seen by most, but I tried to run 1/2 the length of the island to catch up with it and failed. It had just flown over our garden when the news went out! Moral of the story, get out more and never think you can catch a migrating hirrundine on foot! Steve
