High tide Waders at Conwy RSPB
Highlight was the flock of 44 whistling Whimbrel that were roosting at high tide. I can't remember seeinga flock as big as this here. Along with the Whimbrel were 2 Bar tailed Godwit, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 8 Dunlin and good numbers of Curlew and Oystercatchers. On the reserve itself were 2 displaying Little Ringed Plover in front of the visitors centre and a Common Sandpiper. 5 Gadwall and a Pochard also present as well as 5 White Wagtails, 3 Lesser Whitethroat and good numbers of Redd and Sedge Warblers. 50+ Swifts joined the good numbers of hirundines.
