Yellow-browed Warbler & Firecrest - Porth Meudwy

Both of these little beauties in the valley today plus a mix of common migrants. Firecrest was a psychedelic male - beautiful bird! Yellow-browed' showed briefly in the willows by the stream in the bottom section of the valley around SH161255.

Wonder what else is in the area?
Good Birding

  1. Hi Andrew,
Had a wander round a couple spots down the Lleyn today and had the YBW showing very well about half way down to PM just below the 2 ash trees. Thought I heard a Firecrest too. Great to see Eddie U again. Saw a cracking Firecrest at the Porth Oer crossroads on the way back to Aberdaron. Had a probable Richard's Pipit flying west at Porth Colmon. Great feel to it today crests everywhere.
    Cheers
    Rob

    1. Hi Rob

Good to hear from you. That pipit sounds intriguing - Blyth's maybe? :-p

The Urbanski Birder had the YBW in Porth Meudwy again today with the Firecrest at the Minafon crossroads again (virtually the only place I did not check yesterday!) with one or two Red Kites over both sites.

      All the best

      Andrew

    2. Theres a stubble field opp the prim school by that crossroads and the hedge was chocca full of finches. Could be worth keeping an eye on. Could do with a helgoland over thr whole of uwchmynydd really. Might grip back on bardsey a bit then!

  2. Sounds great down there. Looking forward to spend half term down there. Hope to catch up with the locals. Any of those birds would do on the Orme Rob!
