Waders galore.
A visit to Llay Pool on my home from work this evening proved very fruitful. This roadside pool has been looking great for a few weeks as it's in flood. It is close to the road on the Llay to Cefn Y Beydd road.
Tonight here were 3 ringed, 1little ringed plovers, displaying lapwing, single redshank, common sandpiper and 2 Dunlin. Never seen 6 waders at a single Wrexham site before.
Also here are pairs of teal, gadwall, gcg and tufties. A pair of hybrid ruddy/common shelduck were also here. Very odd looking things.
All 3 hirundine species over as well.
Spring is finally here! Will keep my eye on this site as it looks Great for something unusual.
