Having just checked out a report of Little Owls down the Conwy Valley I finally saw one and have put up a couple of boxes for next year. Great to have them in Conwy! If you know of any more sites locally I don't mind supplying boxes- they really make the monitoring much easier.
They don't seem to have done too well during the last decade in central north wales but its great to know they're still holding on.

ReplyDeleteHave you a plan for making the boxes? I've made one for a local pair near us but as yet they're not using it for anything but roosting in. I got plans off website but it was quite complicated!
Cheers Phil, I've done a few to that design advertised by the BTO- the one with a white semi-circle round the entrance so you know if its in use. I'll let you know if they take to these. I've heard of a couple more sites locally because of this thread so might be making a few more yet.
