Cetti's warbler

Finally nailed the Cetti's warbler at Rhyl Brickworks pond this morning in bright sunshine. The bird was showing well at the far end from the car park around anglers peg No 5 before a couple of scrapping mute swans nearly flattened it as they ploughed into the reeds! Lesser redpoll also here but no sign of recent scaup. However, a male scaup was among the scoter flock off Llysfaen plus at least 5 velvets. The surf scoter was also reported earlier. Rhyl end of river Clwydd held barwits and a grey plover. Pair of eider still present at Rhos Point and a harbour porpoise was seen close in.
