Old Faithful returns to Colwyn Bay prom

After an absence of about two months the adult Mediterranean Gull returned to its usual spot on Colwyn Bay promenade in front of Toad Hall Pub today. This bird first appeared here as a first winter several years ago and is seen on and off all year. It sometimes even feeds in the roadside gutter or grassy verge near the Kayleigh while sometimes flies of inland on occassions. Good to have hime back for the 2013 year list.

Julian Wheldrake found a nice Black throated Diver off Rhos Point at 11.30am and was still present at an hour later along with 2 Great Northern Divers, 10+ Red throated Divers, several Auks and Sahgs too. 12 Purple Samds were in their usual spot.

  1. Got the two GND this afternoon but failed on the BTD. Slav Grebe at Llanferfechan took some finding and also a Gannet at Penrhyn Bay!
